Summary:

  • Dover Street Market partners with Japanese artist Verdy for August pop-up featuring three limited drops
  • First release draws long queues outside London store for co-branded items and plush toys
  • Collection includes artist’s signature characters Vick and Visty plus items from his fashion labels

Dover Street Market launched its summer collaboration with Japanese artist Verdy on Friday. The London retailer opened a dedicated pop-up space featuring the artist’s work as part of its fall 2025 programming.

Verdy brings his first London showcase to the Piccadilly location. The artist has worked with cultural figures including Pharrell Williams and Nigo throughout his career. His graphic design work spans multiple industries and collaborations.

The partnership unfolds across three separate releases throughout August. Each drop features different items and collaborations from Verdy’s portfolio.

Friday’s opening attracted significant crowds. Customers lined up outside the store before opening to purchase the first collection. The queue stretched along the street as fans waited for access.

The initial release includes several key pieces. Co-branded T-shirts showcase Vick, Verdy’s panda-rabbit cartoon character that has become his signature design. A large plush version of Visty, another character Verdy created during the pandemic, also features in the collection.

Visty represents Verdy’s response to difficult times. The character was designed to provide comfort and joy during COVID-19 lockdowns. The plush toy brings this concept into physical form.

Additional items come from Verdy’s fashion labels. Girls Don’t Cry and Wasted Youth pieces round out the first drop. These brands represent different aspects of Verdy’s creative output beyond his illustration work.

The Dover Street Market collaboration marks another step in Verdy’s expanding international presence. His work has gained recognition across different markets and demographics.

Two more releases will follow throughout August. Each drop will introduce new items and potentially different collaboration elements. The staggered release strategy builds anticipation while managing demand.

Dover Street Market continues its tradition of featuring emerging and established artists. The Verdy partnership fits within the retailer’s approach of mixing fashion with contemporary art and design.
