FETICO Marks Fifth Anniversary With Artist-Inspired Collection
Japanese fashion brand FETICO presents its Spring Summer 2026 collection to mark five years in the industry. Designer Emi Funayama drew inspiration from two female artists: German performance artist Rebecca Horn and Romanian-French photographer Irina Ionesco.
Design Philosophy Behind The Collection
Horn's work centers on expanding the female body through sculptural devices, feathers, and performances. Her approach to transforming physical limitations into creative expression influenced Funayama's design process. "Transforming physical limitations into a source of creativity and pursuing new forms of expression moved me profoundly," Funayama explains.
Ionesco's aesthetic combines decadence, baroque elements, and surrealism in photography. Her portrayal of the female body within mysterious, decadent settings provided another creative direction. This influence appears through 1920s Art Deco references and vintage lingerie details throughout the collection.
The designer addresses contemporary social expectations around femininity. "Strong norms persist around how women should be. I want more women to be free from such constraints, choosing what they themselves believe to be beautiful," Funayama states.
Collection Details and Materials
The color palette focuses on black, beige, and ivory with vermilion red accents. Scarf-inspired detailing creates elegant drapes through bias cuts applied to dress hems, skirt edges, and top sleeves.
Key pieces include rayon dresses with vermilion roses from jacquard weaving produced in Kiryu, Gunma. Sheer georgette dresses and tops explore transparency effects. Jersey satin tops feature smooth rayon fringe at the bust, while pants display fringe cascading from sides to hips.
The organic cotton denim series presents architectural silhouettes. A denim jacket features bold back cutouts, high-waisted jeans include embroidered damask panels along the sides, and a denim bustier shapes a pleated peplum line.
Tailoring pieces include a long coat in nylon-wool twill, a wrap jacket, and maxi-length skirt. Satin-back georgette appears in pleated skirts with front and back slits, trousers with fringe belts, wide-lapel jackets with back pleats, and long skirts edged with lace.
The lingerie-inspired series features mini pleated slip dresses with lace-trimmed necklines and blouses in Leavers lace with cage-like lattice details. A patchwork dress combines multiple lace types in a sculptural silhouette assembled by artisans.
New Accessories Launch
FETICO introduces its first icon bag, the Arch, defined by an arched silhouette. Japanese craftsmen produce the bag from LWG-certified Italian leather using environmentally conscious methods. Chrome-tanning gives the leather suppleness while enhancing scratch and stain resistance.
The bag includes a rose-shaped clochette for key attachment and comes in black and brown colors across two sizes. The Classic size fits laptops or documents, while the Mini accommodates everyday items like water bottles and makeup pouches.
New footwear includes lace-up ballet flats in premium lamb leather and translucent mesh materials. The third collaboration with Japanese eyewear brand 817 BLANC LNT produces oval-shaped metal frames in silver and champagne gold with temples in black, Havana, and hazel colors.
Additional Product Lines
Accessories inspired by Horn's radial designs include asymmetrical pleated ribbon barrettes, feather-motif harnesses, and fringe earrings and chokers. Earrings come in black bead and pearl variations, while the choker doubles as a bracelet when wrapped twice.
The swimwear collection offers materials with stretch and UV protection. Pieces include a halter-neck monokini with harness-inspired waist cutout, a balconette one-piece with gathering and lace-up details, and a rash guard with sleeve and chest gathers.
