LET’S HAVE A COFFEE BUT MAKE IT COOL

Coffee time is a design experience. For coffee lovers it’s no longer just about taste, it’s an aesthetic pursuit.

Social media is flooded with morning routine videos featuring high-end espresso machines, designer mugs, and hypnotic brewing rituals. But what’s behind this obsession with the coffee corner? As an interior designer, I have a theory… and some practical tips to help you create one in your home.

What we truly seek in our personal spaces is a moment of luxury. Luxury means different things to different people, but we can all agree it’s deeply tied to moments of pleasure.

For me, two words instantly trigger a dopamine rush: coffee and aperitivo.Oh look! These are also the two things we always offer guests when we want to create a welcoming atmosphere. And they happen to be the stars of the two most wanted home setups: the bar corner and the coffee corner.

Lately, though, coffee is stealing the show, and for good reasons:

  • It’s democratic. More accessible and easier to master.
  • It’s acceptable to drink it at literally any hour. So you can always offer one.
  • It’s customizable. When we talk about making a coffee, we mean all its endless variations: flat white, matcha, americano, iced coffee… you name it.
  • It fits in smaller spaces, making it perfect for younger generations living in compact homes.

If you work from home, chances are you’re not mixing a mojito at 10 AM. But coffee? Coffee is always an option.

Post-pandemic, our homes have become offices, cafés, and relaxation zones all in one. Having a beautiful, cozy coffee corner makes the workday feel more enjoyable and laid-back.And the pleasure isn’t just about always having your favorite coffee at hand, it’s about the aesthetic of the moment.

The stainless steel cup that matches the espresso machine’s sleek profile. The grinder’s ASMR-worthy sound. The carefully curated display of brewing tools. A soft-glowing table lamp that wraps the setup in warm light. The coffee station is a delight for all five senses: taste, smell, sound, touch, and… sight.

This is how the Home Café Culture was born. Making coffee has become a ritual to share, both in person and on social media, with setups designed down to the last detail to match your personality in full.
