The London-based brand Miista showed its Autumn/Winter 2025 collection at New York Fashion Week through a choreographed presentation on September 15. The show marked a shift for the company, which started as a footwear label in 2011 and has since expanded into clothing.
Choreographer Zoï Tatopoulos directed the presentation with a cast of New York dancers. The performance incorporated life-sized shoe boxes as props. Tatopoulos, who has worked with FKA Twigs and Zara Larsson, created movement pieces that aligned with the collection's theme of personal expression.
The collection centers on garments that allow wearers to adjust and style pieces in multiple configurations. Tall boots feature long leather straps and laces that adjust the fit from fitted to slouched. Slip dresses include zippers positioned under the bust to alter length and drape. Edwardian-style skirts have asymmetric waists with cord ties at the sides. One shirt design separates into three pieces: a skirt and an off-shoulder top that function independently or together.
Stylist Agata Belcen, Senior Fashion Editor at Large for AnOther Magazine, selected looks for the dancers. Belcen has worked with Burberry, Bottega Veneta, and Louis Vuitton. Sound design came from Cõvco, a London artist who runs Infinite FXX, a performance platform.
Laura Villasenin founded Miista after studying shoemaking at Cordwainers, London College of Fashion. The brand operates stores in London, Paris, New York, and Barcelona. Villasenin co-owns the company with her brother Pablo.
In 2020, Miista opened a factory in Galicia, Spain, where Villasenin was born. The facility produces the ready-to-wear line, which launched in 2021. The brand sources materials in Europe and focuses on local production.
The presentation team included hair stylist Dylan Chalves, makeup artist Jezz Hill, and photographer Adam Powell. Fifteen dancers performed, including Amanda Mitchell, Nicolette Petriello, Carmella Taitt, and Jess Hu.
The AW25 collection is now available through the Miista website.
