In this interview, we delve into the world of VICKY & SOY, who share their inspirations and unique perspectives.

1. Introduce Yourself to the Casawi Community: What drives you? What's your artistic vision, and what sets you apart from the crowd?
We are Alice and Claudia aka Vicky & Soy — a DJ duo born in 2023 from an authentic connection and a shared vision. We come from different backgrounds but are united by a deep-rooted passion for electronic music, cultivated since a very young age. This project was born out of a desire to merge our paths and give voice to a selection that speaks of club culture, identity, and sonic freedom.
We’re driven by the ongoing pursuit — of sounds and grooves that hypnotize, and of spaces where music becomes a collective ritual. We’re motivated by creative urgency and the desire to build sets that are narrative, coherent, yet never predictable. For us, the dancefloor isn’t just a place to dance — it’s a space for expression and connection, where every set carries meaning.
Our artistic vision stems from the fusion of influences: techno, house, and electronic — sounds that blend and redefine themselves depending on the context. We're not interested in commercial shortcuts: we value exploration, deep digging, and the art of crafting a sonic journey that surprises and engages. Our approach is thoughtful, selective, and strongly tied to the most authentic and underground clubbing experience.
What sets us apart is the chemistry between two different but complementary sensibilities, and a strong attention to detail: from curating our repertoire to building the set, and also reading the dancefloor in real time. Vicky & Soy is a project in evolution, yet with deep roots in club culture — made of respect, listening, and constant research.
2. City Inspirations: How has your city influenced your artistic path? Share how its streets, culture, and energy have molded your work.
Lucca is a city rich in history and, like many small towns, is quite introverted, enclosed within its walls — but precisely because of this, it taught us to build our path slowly and consciously. Growing up in such a historically dense city refined our aesthetic sense, but also pushed us to look elsewhere for those electronic vibrations that weren’t always visible on the surface.
In the few independent spaces and self-produced parties, we learned that the scene isn’t something you find — it’s something you build. And that even in an apparently “slow” context, the right energy can emerge — if someone’s willing to push for it.
3. Creative Process: What fuels your creativity? Whether it's a ritual, a muse, or a moment of clarity, we're keen to learn.
Our creativity is born from the time we spend together — in and out of music. We don’t have a fixed ritual, but a shared everyday life that has become our creative ground. We spend a lot of time together not only digging or playing, but also going to the movies, working out, traveling, being in nature. All of this nurtures a deep connection that directly reflects in our sets.
Ideas often come through these life experiences: sometimes in silence, during a mountain walk; other times in a post-film conversation that opens up new sonic images. Every moment we live outside the musical context becomes emotional and visual material to transform into sound.
Creativity, for us, is a living synthesis of our personal bond and everything we experience daily. We don’t force it — we let it come, carried by what we live together. And when it comes, we recognize it immediately.
4. City Lifestyle and Art: How the places you lived influenced your career and work?
The cities that have most influenced our musical journey are London, Ortigia, and Milan — places that differ in culture and energy, but each one essential for our growth.
London opened our ears: a vibrant, layered, radical electronic scene. It’s where we discovered the value of experimentation, sonic freedom, and the fusion of club culture with identity. It’s a city where sound is never neutral, and where every night can become a living archive of influences.
Ortigia, on the other hand, taught us the emotional and shared side of sound. There we absorbed a more Mediterranean, visual, almost dreamlike energy — from Italo disco to Latin, funk, and soul vibes. The island gave us new references on how to create magical and suspended atmospheres through sound.
Milan is our adoptive city, the place of synthesis: urban, intense, always moving. It’s here that we started playing seriously, connecting with the local scene, engaging with other artists and independent spaces. Milan gave us concreteness, but also the courage to find our own voice.
These cities have left us with an inner archive of sounds, feelings, and visions that now shape our selection, our style, and the way we read the dancefloor.
5. Latest or Upcoming Projects: Give us a glimpse into your current endeavors and what lies ahead on your creative journey.
Right now, we’re working on our first studio EP in Turin — a project that marks a turning point in our journey. After months of research, shared sets, and life lived together, we felt the need to define a clearer sonic identity that goes beyond DJing and becomes production.
The EP comes from the fusion of our different musical backgrounds, and from the desire to shape a sound that authentically represents us. Through this process, we’ve come to understand even more what it means to be Vicky & Soy: not just two DJs, but a project with its own voice.
What lies ahead is taking this vision further — through productions, collaborations, and sets in contexts that reflect our aesthetic. The direction is clear: to keep growing, experimenting, and building a space that speaks our language — with style, coherence, and vision.
