In Milan, athletic footwear specialist Hoka and fashion house Marni have revealed their latest joint venture: the Bondi B3LS sneaker. The collaborative release marks a new chapter in sports-fashion crossovers and was celebrated with a multisensory launch event highlighting the shoe's distinctive comfort features.
The Bondi B3LS represents a meeting of two different worlds – Hoka's technical athletic expertise and Marni's forward-thinking design approach. The chunky silhouette features the substantial cushioned sole that Hoka is known for, paired with an eye-catching lacing system. Available in four monochromatic color options – red, beige, blue, and brown – the sneaker balances visual impact with technical performance.
"The partnership between Hoka and Marni celebrates the natural intersection between running and fashion", said Thomas Cykana, senior director of global collaborations and partnership at Hoka. "Both brands value bold optimism, irreverent color choices, and visionary playfulness".
The Bondi B3LS incorporates several technical elements, including a responsive midsole, a mesh upper reinforced with TPU inserts along the sides, and a rubber outsole with small lugs designed to provide traction on various surfaces. Personalization is another key feature, with three interchangeable lace sets included: a flat monochromatic version, a tone-on-tone rope style, and a wider multicolored option to suit different looks.

These design elements served as inspiration for an immersive experience hosted at Villa Clea in Milan. The event emphasized tactile sensations – the central theme of the collaboration. Hoka's signature comfort and cushioning were translated into physical spaces through an installation created by design studio Finemateria, featuring distinctive foam seating and tables, culminating in an entire room with a foam floor.
As artist Marta Del Grandi performed alongside contemporary dancers Federica D'Aversa and Rafael Candela, guests experienced another sensory highlight – a specially curated menu by Mimosa Milano. Each dish was designed to stimulate multiple senses beyond taste, exploring varied textures, aromas, and visual presentations.
The Bondi B3LS sneakers are now available on both Marni and Hoka websites, priced at €395.
