Belgian fashion designer Walter Van Beirendonck has partnered with Amsterdam-based denim brand G-STAR on a new collection named "Denim With Balls". The collaboration showcases Van Beirendonck's unconventional approach to garment construction, with pieces that minimize traditional sewing techniques.

Instead of conventional methods, many items in the collection use glue and design tape to join fabrics together, creating distinctive interpretations of classic denim pieces. This approach aligns with Van Beirendonck's ongoing interest in challenging standard clothing production methods.

The collection features several signature WVB designs, including an oversized jacket created with 3D knitting technology and a sweater emblazoned with "Future Proof"—a reference to the designer's earlier work. Also included is a cap decorated with Van Beirendonck's characteristic upside-down human figure motif.

Denim offerings include a cropped jacket, overalls, box-cut shorts, and straight-leg jeans, all bearing co-branded elements embossed on the surface.

"I tried my hand at making new clothes that were not bound by traditional methods", Van Beirendonck explained. "Why is it that clothes are still made using traditional methods even now, when it is possible to explore new methods that are different from what has been done before? The main themes of this project were innovation, research and challenging the stereotypes of clothing making. G-STAR gave me complete discretion, so I was able to create freely."

The collection is now available for purchase online.
