The Austrian Fashion Association brings the Here There Within project to Brussels to highlight new clothing designers operating across European networks. The program consists of a public exhibition alongside a printed publication and an urban poster series spanning two Belgian cities. You will find the main showcase at Reset Atelier located in central Brussels. The venue opens to the public on June 12 and June 13. Visitors observe contemporary clothing presented as cultural commentary observing social and political shifts. The Austrian Federal Ministry of Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport commissioned the entire showcase with additional backing from the Austrian Embassy in Brussels.

Thirteen distinct labels participate in the central showcase. Alessandro Santi examines gender representation through his collections by seeking alternatives to standard industry success metrics. Benedikt Simon Salchegger constructs garments from discarded materials and garbage bags to question societal waste. Dead White Mens Clothes reworks second-hand apparel to examine neocolonial dynamics and global clothing systems. Flora Miranda merges generative design principles with physical garments to challenge conventional couture. Florentina Leitner produces ready-to-wear collections using small Italian ateliers to build narrative worlds. GATTO references punk subcultures using upcycled pieces to foster a specific community. Hao Wu applies deconstruction methods to examine social symbols and clothing value systems.

HISU PARK bridges couture and ready-to-wear using deadstock fabrics to emphasize wearability. Julian Schock treats garments as performative objects connecting the physical body to surrounding space through alternative tailoring. Lore focuses on local European fibers and traditional production methods to reduce reliance on synthetic imports. Matthias Winkler creates footwear using antique leather to reframe shoe production as an act of care. Sassa Ann van Wyk produces hats using historic techniques across both couture and ready-to-wear lines. Used To Be constructs new designs from existing second-hand resources to establish alternative value systems in fashion.

The poster campaign reclaims public space from global conglomerates. You see these displays across Antwerp from June 4 to June 7 before the campaign moves to Brussels from June 9 to June 13. The imagery features photography by Hendrik Schneider alongside styling by Sabina Schreder. A visual journal accompanies the physical showcase offering fragmentary insights into the designers and their research processes. The publication run consists of 500 copies printed in Austria. The Austrian Fashion Association organized the overarching program to professionalize the contemporary Austrian design scene.
