In a second creative venture, Italian fashion house Emporio Armani has reconnected with Swedish brand Our Legacy Work Shop to produce a capsule collection that mines the rich Armani heritage while introducing fresh design perspectives.
The collaboration, which follows their initial partnership, features Our Legacy's creative director Cristopher Nying working with existing Armani materials to craft something distinctly new.
"To design within the boundaries of what already exists is a challenge – but also an opportunity", notes Nying. "These fabrics carry history. Seeing them return in a new form made the entire process unexpectedly rewarding".
This edition expands beyond menswear to include women's pieces: relaxed jackets, pinstriped trousers, one-piece swimwear, denim, and textured waistcoats. Throughout the collection, East Asian influences appear in kimono-inspired overcoats, slippers, and decorative pocket linings.
The collaboration maintains signature Armani elements while introducing reinterpreted designs using classic fabrics and trims. Additionally, vintage Armani textiles have been recreated specifically for this project through Our Legacy's development process.
Photographer Alasdair McLellan captured the campaign on Pantelleria, a Mediterranean volcanic island and longtime personal retreat of Mr. Armani. The imagery alternates between monochrome portraits and warm orange-tinted still lifes that reflect the island's natural character.
The collection launches May 16 with a special installation at Armani/Manzoni in Milan, alongside displays at Dover Street Market locations in London, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, and Ginza. Items will be available at Our Legacy stores in Stockholm, London, Berlin, and Seoul, at Work Shop Stockholm, and through select retail partners.
