Summary:

  • SAHI shows Last Spring from 21 to 23 October 2026 at 38 rue du Vertbois in the Marais.
  • The exhibition covers two floors and brings together furniture, decorative arts and artworks from Austria around 1900 to contemporary Turkey.
  • Last Spring opens a cycle of four seasonal exhibitions.

SAHI, the Paris gallery founded by Deniz Başman, presents its first exhibition from 21 to 23 October 2026. The show, Last Spring, takes place in a temporary space at 38 rue du Vertbois in the Marais and covers two floors. The dates coincide with Design Miami/Paris. SAHI launched its online gallery earlier, and this exhibition opens a cycle of four seasonal shows.

The title comes from Turkish. Autumn is sonbahar, which translates as “the last spring.” Başman pairs this image with Gaston Bachelard’s The Psychoanalysis of Fire, published in 1938, to build two atmospheres. The first space combines blue and clear glass, dark wood, lacquer and soft lines. The second space centres on red.

Başman states the intent behind the show: “With SAHI, I choose objects for their presence, but also for the relationships they can create. Last Spring expresses this sensibility through autumn and Bachelard’s reverie on fire: images that take shape as materials, colours and compositions.”

The selection covers more than a century, from Austria around 1900 to contemporary Turkey. Pieces by Josef Hoffmann, Hans J. Wegner, Pablo Picasso and Lino Sabattini sit next to works by Yıldız Moran, shown courtesy of Galeri Nev, and Zeynep Kayan. Creations by leading manufacturers and anonymous makers are also included. SAHI places furniture, decorative arts and artworks together according to affinities of form and material instead of style or period.

The founder was born in Turkey, studied at the École Spéciale d’Architecture in Paris and worked with Saint Laurent and Celine before becoming Special Projects Director at Comme des Garçons and Dover Street Market Paris. SAHI pairs its gallery with an interior design studio, which also works on creative direction, scenography and bespoke furniture.

On 21 October, a preview by invitation runs from 11 am to 6 pm. You send RSVPs to press@bureauclinica.com. Bureau Clinica handles press contact at the same address. Further information is available at sahi.fr and on Instagram at @sahi__paris.
