CB2 has released Casa Dean, a furniture and home decor collection made with Kasseem “Swizz Beatz” Dean, a Grammy Award-winning producer and art collector. According to Wallpaper, the line covers seating, lighting and decorative objects. The pieces center on creative living and family connection.
Dean developed the range with designer Evan Jerry of Studio Anansi. The designs use distinct textures, bold colors and purposeful forms, and they reflect how Dean’s taste has changed over time.
The seating includes a curved accent chair in woolly taupe shearling and a modular sofa in green velvet. The green refers to Dean’s liking for British racing green. A linear console table has a red enamel finish. The range also includes smoked crystal barware and artwork made with artist Megan Gabrielle Harris.
The Lam-Louie credenza is a multi-purpose storage piece named after Dean’s father. The credenza also works as a functional DJ console.
Andrea Erman, CB2’s senior director of design and development for housewares, told Wallpaper how Dean approached each piece. “Swizz was especially thoughtful about the experience of each piece. How does a sofa sit? How does a material feel? How does the furniture encourage people to gather and connect?”
Dean described the aim of the collection. “I just want people to just tune into themselves with this collaboration. The world is moving so fast and there’s so much uncertainty that when you sit on this couch, or when you plug your set-up into this DJ set, or put some ice in this amazing bucket, you’re doing it to reflect yourself.”
The Casa Dean collection is available now on the CB2 website.
