RIMOWA released two seasonal colors on October 8, 2026, both named after pigments painters have used for centuries. Umber and Ultramarine now cover the Essential suitcases and the Groove leather bags, and English actor Joe Alwyn fronts the campaign. Prices start at €770.

Umber is an earth brown used in the first layers of a painting. Ultramarine is a deep blue made from lapis lazuli, a stone artists prized during the Renaissance. Side by side, the brown looks warm and the blue looks dense.

On the Essential suitcases, the color runs through the whole case. The polycarbonate shell matches the handle, zipper, logo badge and wheel housing, so no contrasting hardware breaks the finish. Each case has a stage-free telescopic handle and the Multiwheel system, and RIMOWA covers the Essential line with a lifetime guarantee. Inside, one side holds a zipped compartment and a mesh pocket. The other side holds an adjustable Flex Divider and a compression system, so you fit more in without losing order.

Groove gets a smaller selection. The new Groove Mini Shopping Bag is a compact version of the original shopper and comes in both colors. RIMOWA makes the bag from Italian calfskin and fits a magnetic closure, palladium hardware and a removable strap for hand, shoulder or cross-body carry. The Groove Cross-Body Bag Small and the Zipped Pouch come in Umber only.

The campaign follows Alwyn as a young painter in a studio. Stills show him behind a wooden canvas frame next to an Umber Essential case, and resting his feet on two stacked cases.
