Summary:

  • Spazio Cinna is a new independent creative space of about 170 m² at Via Felice Casati 14, in Milan’s Porta Venezia.
  • Sofia Spini and Giorgia Calia founded it, and Giorgio Scanelli handled the architecture. It is available for shoots, exhibitions, pop-ups, workshops and events.

Spazio Cinna, a new independent creative space founded by Sofia Spini and Giorgia Calia, has opened at Via Felice Casati 14 in Milan’s Porta Venezia district. The space marked its launch on 28 October 2026 with IS THERE MORE?, a private dinner, and opened to the public on Saturday 31 October with DO YOU STILL PLAY?

The name comes from Bolognese dialect, where cinna means little girl. According to the founders, it refers to the curiosity children bring to the world before they feel the need to find an answer or reach a result. The press release describes how play, as people grow up, turns into research, method and work, and starts to need a purpose. The team says Spazio Cinna is meant to make room again for trying things, changing the rules and seeing what happens, without any idea of going back to childhood.

What is Spazio Cinna in Milan

Spazio Cinna sits inside a courtyard in central Milan. It covers about 170 square metres, split into connected rooms that can be used separately or opened into a single space. The architecture, furniture and spatial design are by Giorgio Scanelli, who kept the building’s original reinforced concrete structure, the continuity between rooms and the existing ceiling heights. A resin floor runs through the whole space, and the structural elements sit alongside plain surfaces and modular furniture.

According to the team, areas for creative production share the space with rooms for research, reading, consulting materials and meetings. The space is aimed at creatives, artists, professionals and brands from different disciplines. It is available for photo shoots, productions, exhibitions, installations, pop-ups, presentations, workshops and events. Alongside renting out its rooms, the team says it plans to build its own programme of cultural initiatives, collaborations and research projects.
