Ye announced plans for a women's collection under his YZY label through an Instagram post featuring a black bodysuit with cutout details. The designer shared a single preview image alongside the message "YZY women's coming next • SCALING INNOVATION."
In the same post, Ye addressed fashion industry competitors, particularly those who he claims copied his foam footwear designs during the COVID-19 period. He expressed frustration with companies that allegedly used his platform and connections while disregarding his creative direction.
"People tried to tell me to go back to adidas", Ye wrote, referencing his previous partnership with the sportswear brand. He added that these suggestions came from individuals who had previously sought financial support from him.
The announcement follows YZY's recent footwear releases, including the SL-01 slipper in various colors and a preview of the BL-01 sneaker model. Currently, only the black version of the SL-01 is available for purchase.
Ye did not provide specific launch dates or additional details about the upcoming women's line. His post referenced rapper Tupac and included lyrics from his own track "Off The Grid", comparing his stance toward fashion companies to the revenge-driven character John Wick.
This marks YZY's first dedicated venture into womenswear since establishing independent operations following the end of the adidas partnership.
