Apple announced Apple Home Collection, a range of home hardware made with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. The lineup includes four LG cameras, a smart deadbolt, two thermostats and standalone temperature sensors. Apple worked with both companies on integration, mounting and design, going further than its Works with Apple Home and Matter certifications.
You add each device to the Home app with an NFC tap from your iPhone, with no manufacturer login. Every accessory supports Thread, so connections hold when Wi-Fi drops. Apple announced HomeView, HomePod mini 2 and a new Apple TV 4K the same day. All three serve as hubs.
The LG cameras record at up to 2.5K and identify people, familiar faces, pets, vehicles and packages. Footage goes to your iCloud+ plan with 10 days of event history and no separate subscription. The Video Doorbell has a 2.5K front lens and a full HD lens for packages. The Floodlight Cam adds dual floodlights and color night vision. The Outdoor Cam offers the same night vision and installs without a professional. The Indoor Cam tilts its lens down once the first household member arrives home.
The LG Smart Deadbolt Lock uses Ultra Wideband to sense an iPhone or Apple Watch carrying a home key. The lock releases the bolt automatically as you approach. Backups include tapping your phone, a PIN pad and a concealed key slot. The lock reports open, closed and tampered states. As a Matter lock with Aliro support, core functions run without internet.
The two thermostats, one from LG and one from Schneider Electric, support Matter and on-device wire detection for DIY installation. Adaptive Temperature adjusts heating and cooling when residents are home, asleep or away. Room readings come from new standalone sensors or from HomeView, HomePod and HomePod mini.
Apple says footage and Home app data stay end-to-end encrypted and process on your own hub or through Private Cloud Compute. Rollout starts in December through Apple, the Apple Store app and Apple Store locations. Select accessories follow in early 2027. ADT installation arrives at Apple Retail in the US this fall.
