Gordon Murray Special Vehicles revealed the S1 at Monterey Car Week during The Quail. You receive a street-legal supercar constructed as a direct road-going evolution of the track-focused S1 LM from 2025. Both vehicles share a rigid carbon-fiber monocoque chassis. The new model replaces fixed rear wings, long front splitters, and deep side skirts with fresh exterior body panels and an active rear aerodynamic system.
At the center of the machine sits a bespoke 4.2-liter naturally aspirated Cosworth V12 engine. The powerplant generates 680 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque while spinning to a 12,100 rpm redline. Internal components include titanium valves, titanium connecting rods, silicon carbide-coated lightweight pistons, and a dry-sump lubrication system. Engineers tuned the motor to deliver 80 percent of peak torque at 2,500 rpm, giving you flexible power during daily road trips.
You control the engine through a six-speed manual transmission equipped with a touring overdrive gear. Straightened shift cables deliver precise, direct gear selection. Inside the engine bay, a polished Inconel exhaust system features a 24-carat gold heat shield, matching classic McLaren F1 engineering details.
Chassis modifications convert the track platform into a refined long-distance machine. Ride height increases by 10 millimeters, while retuned suspension dampers absorb road imperfections without losing steering feedback. Dihedral doors house operable roll-down glass windows, replacing fixed race windows. The setup includes 19-inch front and 21-inch rear lightweight wheels fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and cross-drilled Brembo brakes. A-pillar mirrors incorporate discrete rear-view cameras.
The cabin retains the three-seat central driving position. You sit in the middle with thicker seat padding, improved acoustic insulation, selectable power steering assistance, and a custom lightweight audio system.
Global production stays capped at 64 examples. This production number expands significantly beyond the five original S1 LM units. Recent auction sales set market benchmarks when an S1 LM fetched over €17.8 million. You get pure analog performance focused entirely on driver engagement.
