Joshua Bullen will present his first collection for A COLD WALL in Paris for Autumn/Winter 2027, according to the statement issued by the label's owner, Four Marketing, on 4 November 2026. The statement gives no date for the show.
What the Designer In Residence role means at A COLD WALL
Four Marketing describes the appointment as part of a new model for A COLD WALL. Bullen will work within what the company calls a renewed aesthetic framework and bring his own interpretation of the brand's codes, which it sums up as "refined in form, purposeful in function". According to The Business of Fashion, the role is the start of "a long-term platform" in which the brand will regularly rotate guest designers alongside its core team. The same report says this is the first time the label has selected a new creative leader since founder Samuel Ross sold it.
What Joshua Bullen and Ben Banks said
"It is a privilege to be working with A COLD WALL and sharing my experiences with those of the brand. A COLD WALL represents to me: community, culture, lifestyle but most importantly good design. Bringing together friends and enjoying creativity to take ACW into its next chapter", said Joshua Bullen.
"Having known Josh professionally for many years, this feels like a natural coming together. A meaningful and long-term design and cultural philosophy is built on trust and patience, and that trust already exists between us, so we start from a strong foundation. Josh's background and his previous work speak for themselves. We are in a difficult moment for the fashion industry, but moments of change bring opportunity: the chance to think slightly differently, learn from the past, and shape a new vision", said Ben Banks, Group CEO of Four Marketing.
Who is Joshua Bullen
Bullen graduated in Fashion Design Menswear from Central Saint Martins in 2011 and later returned there as a guest tutor. He spent over a decade as Head of Design at Stone Island, then worked as Design Director of Menswear at Givenchy. At Kenzo in Paris he was Design Director, overseeing menswear and womenswear ready-to-wear, shoes, leather goods and Kenzo Kids, a role FashionNetwork says he held until 2025.
Who owns A COLD WALL
Ross sold the London label to Tomorrow Ltd. in February 2024, and Tomorrow sold it to Four Marketing that November, according to The Business of Fashion. FashionNetwork notes that the name previously carried hyphens, as A-Cold-Wall. Four Marketing, founded in 1997 and run by Banks, its Group CEO and founding partner, built the UK business of Stone Island and C.P. Company. Frasers Group made a strategic investment in the company in 2015, and the group also owns the lingerie business Agent Provocateur.
The brand says it reworks the codes of sportswear, utility and tailoring through architectural principles, and that it commissions artists, musicians and makers to work alongside each collection. CASAWI has followed that approach in collections such as FW24 "Obscure Renders", which looked at the relationship between a building's exterior and its interior, and SS25 "Pink Noise", which drew on British pirate radio.
