Summary:

  • Stone Island launches the Fall/Winter 2026 campaign to investigate identity and culture.
  • The project features 100 questions curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist for a diverse cast.
  • Photographer David Sims shot portraits of figures like Skepta, Breanna Stewart, and Xu Xin.

Stone Island continues the Community as a Form of Research project for the Autumn Winter 2026 collection. The brand investigates the dialogue between contemporary culture, identity, and global communities. The LAB + LIFE concept translates this focus. Product innovation aligns directly with individual expression.

This season features a structured interview format. Serpentine Galleries director Hans Ulrich Obrist curated 100 specific questions for the campaign subjects. Participants answer questions about personal history and philosophy. Skepta answered questions about his mother and personal freedom. Fakemink answered questions about his favourite city, selecting London over other locations. This interview approach provides a documented history of each subject. You understand the individual behind the clothing through these direct answers.

The initial release opens with portraits of table tennis champion Xu Xin, DJ Adrian Douzmanian, filmmaker Nick Love, WNBA champion Breanna Stewart, and photographer Simjae. Additional portraits follow throughout the season. The second wave includes rapper Fakemink, musician Skepta, actor Stephen Graham, artist 3House, Samir Bantal, Monika Sprüth, and director Jia Zhang-Ke.

David Sims photographed the entire cast. He maintains a consistent visual grammar across every portrait. Subjects sit in a chair beside fireside lighting against a plain background, looking past the camera. Max Pearmain styled the subjects. Ferdinando Verderi directed the creative vision.

The clothing reflects extensive material research. Skepta wears the 4100035 Dense Oxford Nylon TC jacket. Fakemink appears in the Q100027 Slick Nylon Tela TC jacket. Artisans treat this piece with resins for an oiled finish. Stewart wears the 1200039 Organic Panama Cotton and Nylon piece. These garments build on the 60,000 dye recipes created by the Ravarino laboratory since 1982. You gain direct insight into technical capabilities by examining these specific pieces. The campaign format treats athletes and musicians with identical scrutiny. Consistency proves the brand values cultural investigation as much as textile development.
