Louis Vuitton has presented its Spring-Summer 2027 Men’s Pre-Collection, designed by Men’s Creative Director Pharrell Williams under the title “Whatever the Weather”. The Louis Vuitton SS27 pre-collection is built around rainwear, trompe l’oeil leather and a new weathered Monogram Reporter canvas, with technical footwear that includes the LV Drop 300 sneaker and the LV Ranger boot. The brand has not shared prices or a release date.
According to the brand, the collection is designed for a traveller moving between continents and dealing with changing forecasts. It combines the practical side of rainwear with dandy tailoring and fabrics treated to handle the weather. That pairing runs through the whole range, from outerwear to luggage and shoes.
What Is Louis Vuitton’s Monogram Reporter Canvas
The weathered Monogram Reporter motif is the collection’s main new graphic. The label says it draws on 1980s workwear, combining coated canvas with brown suede and leather panels. It appears on blue nylon puffers, orange reversible gilets and lasered denim sets.
Classic rainwear shapes are remade in the house’s materials. The lineup includes fisherman slickers in shiny calfskin, a puffer coat cut from mini-Monogram jacquard, belted suiting and fleece blousons that pack down into their own front pocket.
Trompe l’Oeil in the Louis Vuitton SS27 Pre-Collection
Several pieces are made to look like something else. The Trompe L’Oeil Jersey line uses a printing technique on leather that reproduces the look and feel of classic grey sweatshirt fabric. It covers hoodies as well as the Keepall 50, the Speedy 30 and the Track backpack.
Other treatments follow the weather theme. A silver-coated denim jacket is made to look soaked by rain, and cashmere suits are woven to resemble denim. A spongy rubber spray imitates mud splashes on denim jackets, the LV Trainer sneaker and the LV Ranger boot.
Louis Vuitton SS27 Bags and Footwear
Bags
The luggage carries the travel idea further. Bags come in faded blue and yellow Monogram Reporter canvas on cognac suede bases. A Keepall 35 is covered in 3D-printed glossy raindrops, and one Monogram canvas bag takes the shape of an umbrella.
Footwear
The LV Drop 300 is a runner lined with mohair and mesh. It sits alongside the LV Titled sneaker and a lightweight version of the LV Ranger boot made from black suede, rubber and ripstop.
