Maison Margiela and Gentle Monster have unveiled their third collaborative eyewear collection, marking their most extensive joint project to date. The partnership between the French fashion house and Korean eyewear specialist now encompasses 20 new pieces—eight sunglasses and 12 optical frames.
This collection follows their previous two releases, which featured 11 and 17 designs respectively. The new line continues the aesthetic dialogue established in earlier collaborations while expanding the range considerably.
The collection merges cybercore influences with industrial elements. Metallic materials and cable temples feature prominently, alongside Margiela's recognizable white stitch detailing. The frames showcase distinctive end tip designs that emphasize the avant-garde sensibilities both brands are known for.
Available color options include silver and green metallic finishes, plus standard options in black, gray, navy, ivory, red, and tortoiseshell patterns.
To support the launch, the brands plan to establish temporary retail spaces in seven global cities. These pop-up installations will feature "cybercore-inspired abstract human forms, raw patterns, and sheer materials in harmonious balance", according to press materials. The spatial design references the cable temple details found in the eyewear pieces. The specific cities hosting these installations have not yet been announced.
This collection represents the ongoing creative relationship between Maison Margiela, known for its deconstructed approach to fashion, and Gentle Monster, which has built its reputation on innovative eyewear design. The expanded lineup suggests a successful partnership that continues to evolve with each release.
Maison Margiela and Gentle Monster’s third collaboration will launch online via Gentle Monster and authorized retailers.
