Seoul outerwear label San San Gear launches a second flagship location in Hannam-dong. Founded in 2019, the Korean brand selected a former residential site for the retail venue. You experience architectural ideas centered around duality, combining public elements with original domestic structures. The design team altered a private residence to express contrasting concepts, joining street style aesthetics with technical apparel functions.
Tokyo design firm Daikei Mills executed the spatial layout, marking the firm's initial project inside South Korea. The studio previously created retail environments for Issey Miyake, Auralee, and Lemaire. Daikei Mills preserved existing raw textures and open structural features. On the main floor, you notice a blurred courtyard boundary, a large central circular fixture, and matching floor patterns. Tokyo practice Siin Siin produced sculptural furniture pieces specifically for the ground level.
Varying spatial scales, display stages, and runway structures organize the upper level. Designer Seong-il Choi, working in Seoul after assignments in London and Berlin, created furniture pieces throughout the second floor. These wooden and metallic items add geometric density across separate rooms. The structure separates activewear displays while keeping lines of sight open through preserved residential windows.
Below the retail rooms, the basement operates as a media screening area. The space displays The Other Lights in the City, a short film by director Park Se-young starring actor Kasamatsu Sho. The screening connects directly with theme points from the 2026 Fall Winter Cable collection. San San Gear plans cultural projects, video screenings, and community programs inside the basement facility.
San San Gear supplies technical garments across international stockists, including Goodhood in London, Extra Butter in New York, I.T in Hong Kong, and GR8 in Tokyo. The label distributes garments through 40 international locations and 13 domestic storefronts. Operating hours for the Hannam location run Monday through Thursday from 11 AM to 8 PM, and Friday through Sunday from 11 AM to 9 PM. You find the property at 37-10 Itaewon-ro 55-gil in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
