Summary:

  • SSENSE ran a one-day Salon des Refusés pop-up in Paris on October 2, 2026, from 12 PM to 6 PM.
  • Seven designers showed pieces for public viewing, fitting and purchase.
  • An evening program followed with Memphy on the decks and a showcase by Smerz.

SSENSE opened a one-day pop-up in Paris on October 2, 2026, during Paris Fashion Week. The event carried the name Salon des Refusés. Doors stayed open to the public from 12 PM to 6 PM.

Seven designers took part: Kanika Agarwal, Laura Andraschko, Merrma, Petra Fagerström, Rescha, Seconda and Stephen Jones. You walked in, looked at the pieces, tried them on and bought them on site. Most of this selection is normally seen through the SSENSE website.

The name comes from the 1863 Salon des Refusés in Paris, an exhibition for artists whose work the official Salon turned down. SSENSE applied the name to a new group of designers.

The evening continued with music. Memphy played on the decks through the night, and Smerz gave a showcase during the program.

The designers differ in background and focus:

Kanika Agarwal launched her namesake label in 2026 and works from Paris. She studied fashion design at Pratt Institute in New York and minored in philosophy. Her collection includes floral motifs and tailored suits.

Laura Andraschko is a Central Saint Martins graduate based in London. She started her label in 2021, with dresses, footwear and graphics which refer to early internet culture.

Merrma is a Paris label founded in 2023 by Lorelei Goude and Jojo Schult. The brand makes head accessories, from acetate hair clips to hats, produced in France.

Petra Fagerström is a Swedish designer who graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2024. She founded her label in 2025 and works with warped proportions on midi skirts, cropped leggings and bell-bottom trousers.

Rescha works between French and Indian cultures, using heritage textile techniques and deadstock yarns.

Seconda was founded in 2024 by Andrea Bertazzon, who is Italian-born and Paris-based. The label releases one collection a year, with convertible garments you style in several ways.

Stephen Jones is a British milliner with a career of more than four decades. His hats have appeared in shows by Jean Paul Gaultier, Vivienne Westwood and John Galliano at Dior.

Eric Grischott

Born in Groningen in 1991, Eric Grischott is a linguist with a deep-rooted passion for art, music, and fashion. His academic journey led him to graduate in languages, further enriching his linguistic prowess.
