Summary

  • Custom workshop Bandit9 produces nine modified Ducati 821 motorcycles with hand-fabricated aluminum bodywork
  • Motorcycle retains original 110 hp V-twin engine with 3.3-second acceleration to 60 mph
  • Each unit costs $44,900 and stems from a customer commission based on the EVE Odyssey concept

The Vietnamese custom motorcycle workshop Bandit9 has completed production of nine modified Ducati 821 motorcycles. Each unit carries a price of $44,900 and represents a complete visual overhaul of the Italian sport bike platform.

The project originated from a customer commission. A rider familiar with Bandit9's EVE Odyssey concept approached the workshop requesting a custom build for mountain riding. This single request evolved into a limited production run of nine identical motorcycles.

Bandit9's approach involved replacing the standard Ducati bodywork with hand-fabricated aluminum panels. The workshop polished each aluminum component to create what they describe as a monolithic appearance. Every external surface received redesign treatment, from fuel tank to exhaust system integration.

The motorcycle's mechanical foundation remains largely unchanged. The 821cc V-twin engine produces 110 horsepower and 65.8 foot-pounds of torque. Acceleration figures show 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds, with maximum speed reaching 125 mph. The original tubular steel trellis frame works alongside cast aluminum subframe components.

Weight specification lists 175 kilograms for the complete motorcycle. Standard Ducati components include Brembo brake calipers and Sachs suspension units. The custom exhaust system integrates into the bodywork design rather than mounting as a separate component.

Detail work includes LED lighting systems, polished fork covers, and an aluminum-milled fuel cap. The seat uses high-density foam construction. Bandit9 applied a two-tone paint scheme across the aluminum bodywork.

The workshop's modification process required complete disassembly of each donor Ducati 821. Hand-fabrication methods shaped the replacement bodywork, with each panel receiving individual attention during the polishing process. Assembly involved fitting the custom components while maintaining the original motorcycle's performance characteristics.

Production numbers remain fixed at nine units. No additional examples are planned beyond this initial run. Each motorcycle requires several months of work to complete the transformation from standard Ducati to Bandit9's interpretation.
