The second collaboration between Grand Collection and New Balance has its Rome launch on 7 November 2026, with an event and video screening at the skate shop 7 Hills in Flaminio. The collection includes reworked versions of the 770 and 508 sneakers, in black and deep forest, and a range of apparel. New Balance professional skateboarder Brian Reid and the brand's European skate team will attend.

Grand Collection is a New York skate wear label founded by designer Ben Oleynik. Its first project with New Balance came last fall, a Numeric 770 released in October 2025 in black and white leather. The brands describe the new one with the phrase "refined functionality", saying each piece was considered for its use in skateboarding and for its craftsmanship.

Both sneakers use premium leather, brushed suede and debossed branding. According to the release, both are reinforced for stability, impact and durability. The 508 already has a place in skateboarding: New Balance sells it in its Numeric line as the Brandon Westgate 508, a signature model of the skater who also appears in the campaign.

The outerwear piece is a fleece-lined jacket in taslan nylon, with the piping Grand uses as a signature, embroidered branding, an adjustable cord at the hem and on-seam hand pockets with YKK zippers. A heavyweight colorblocked sweatshirt in 520gsm cotton has a two-way front zipper, on-seam zipper pockets and embroidered branding, and comes with matching bottoms. The range also includes a cross-weave cotton Oxford shirt and co-branded cotton tees.

A New York skate video on the Grand Collection site, dated 4 October 2026, shows the clothes and shoes in use. It features New Balance and Grand skaters Brian Reid, Spencer Hamilton and Brandon Westgate. The soundtrack is a single live piano performed by Jonathan Paik, a jazz pianist based in Brooklyn. The three skaters also appear in a post from New Balance Numeric on Instagram.

The Rome launch at 7 Hills

The event takes place at 7 Hills, at Via Flaminia 47, and includes the video screening, gifting, drinks and music. On 2 November the shop published a post marking 13 years in the city and presenting a new visual identity created with Studio Mistaker, with a capsule featuring graphics by Michele Marconi and a film by Lorenzo Piermattei.

The apparel is listed on the 7 Hills website, where you can find the tees at €55, the Oxford shirt at €130, the pants at €140, the zip-up sweatshirt at €165 and the fleece-lined jacket at €215.
