L’Art de L’Automobile and Salomon move their focus away from speed and toward the people who keep cars moving. The result is a collaborative XT-QUEST 2 built around “Mechanic Walking Shoes”. L’Art de L’Automobile shared first-look photos of the pair, which comes in a single olive and black treatment named “Olive”. The pair will release on October 28.

Start with the upper. Olive nubuck and textured panels reference the hiking background of the XT-QUEST 2. An oversized black toe cap wraps around the forefoot and gives the shoe a workwear finish. Tonal stitching keeps the build plain, and the palette stays muted. Polished silver hardware and multicolored rope laces add metal shine and color to an otherwise utilitarian look.

Look closer and the automotive references appear. A circular car graphic is embossed near the heel. White L’ART lettering runs across the tongue, and Salomon branding sits against the black forefoot guard. Each reference sits on a different part of the shoe, from the heel to the tongue to the toe.

The sole keeps the trail-ready construction of the XT-QUEST 2. You get a stability-focused bottom unit and a deeply lugged outsole. Brown-to-olive marbling runs along the midsole and gives the pair a weathered look, close to an oil stain. This detail matches the garage-inspired concept of the collaboration.

The release date is October 28. SKU and MSRP are still marked TBC, so no price is confirmed. Retail listings point to L’Art de L’Automobile at lartlart.com and Salomon JP at salomon.jp. Check both pages on release day for the final price.
