Summary

  • Nike and COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS release updated Air Rejuven8 sneakers with refined construction
  • The shoe features a streamlined Flywire upper with mesh instead of plastic cage from original 2008 design
  • Available exclusively at Dover Street Market stores and online in black and white colorways

Nike and COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS have released their collaborative Air Rejuven8 sneakers. The shoes first appeared during the brand's "To Hell With War" runway show in Paris for Fall/Winter 2025.

Rei Kawakubo's fashion house continues its partnership with Nike to revive a sneaker that originally debuted during the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The collaboration updates the 16-year-old design with contemporary materials and construction methods.

The new Air Rejuven8 features several changes from the original model. The upper uses a slimmed-down Flywire construction. Nike replaced the plastic cage system with soft mesh overlays. These modifications create a more streamlined appearance while maintaining the shoe's distinctive silhouette.

Co-branding elements appear on both the black and white colorways. The partnership marks another chapter in the ongoing relationship between Nike and COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS.

During the Paris fashion show, the sneakers appeared alongside military-inspired jackets, floral top hats, and handcrafted boots. The collection's anti-war theme provided context for the footwear debut.

The Air Rejuven8 goes on sale exclusively through Dover Street Market locations and their online platform. Buyers have two color options: black and white. No wider retail release has been announced.

The original Air Rejuven8 launched during a significant period for Nike basketball and athletic footwear. The 2008 Beijing Olympics saw numerous performance and lifestyle models debut across different sports categories.

This collaboration continues COMME des GARÇONS' history of reimagining classic Nike silhouettes. Previous partnerships have produced versions of the Air Max 180, Dunk, and Air Force 1 models with the Japanese brand's design philosophy applied to American sportswear.
