On 29 September 2026, MoDesign held a new edition of Perspectives Croisées at Hôtel Le Marois in Paris, during Paris Fashion Week. The event paired MOSSI | Ateliers Alix with TIANXI, a Chinese ceremonial wear house. Visitors looked at the techniques, the training and the materials behind a finished garment.
Ateliers Alix is the school founded by designer Mossi Traoré. It showed work by first-, second- and third-year students, arranged to follow the progression of learning. Students moved from understanding how a garment is built to mastering a technique and then to working with precision. The school teaches couture techniques through practice, repetition and close attention to detail. The display included sleeve construction, cuff making, pockets made with haute couture techniques and neckline finishes. Each piece stood as an object to examine. You saw seams, internal structures and finishing choices, the parts of a garment usually hidden from view.
TIANXI presented embroidery details, fabrics from its collection and the gold-coloured threads used to make them. A presentation of silhouettes ran alongside. Guests looked at textures and at how thread reflects light, then saw how these elements fit into the finished designs. The house also showed its contemporary reading of Chinese ceremonial wear.
On arrival, guests signed their names and took part in a stamping ritual. MoDesign linked the gesture to the title of the event, where individual marks meet and form a shared story. Guests compared the two approaches and the commitment to precision both sides share.
MoDesign is a Franco-Chinese platform for fashion and creation. Perspectives Croisées began in 2024. Since then, the project has brought together French and Chinese designers, artisans, fashion houses, institutions and industry professionals through exhibitions, presentations and encounters. MoDesign organised the event.
