Summary:

  • Fragment, DAB Motors and Brabus released a black-and-white version of the Brabus Urban E, styled by Hiroshi Fujiwara.
  • The engineering is unchanged, with 37 hp, 475 Nm and up to 150 km of urban range.
  • DAB Motors builds 10 numbered units by hand in France, priced at $50,000 (about €43,000).

Fragment, DAB Motors and Brabus have released the Brabus Urban E Fragment Edition. Hiroshi Fujiwara, who founded fragment, directed the visual design. The motorcycle is based on the Brabus Urban E, the German company's first electric motorcycle, which was presented earlier this year.

Colour does most of the work. The bodywork is black. White appears on the carbon-fibre wheel covers, the Brembo brake calipers, the Brabus lettering and the Brabus Masterpiece leather seat. Fragment branding sits on the side panels and the front fender. The rear light has a clear lens with the fragment logo built in.

The mechanical package stays the same as on the standard Urban E. The motor produces 27.6 kW (37 hp) and 475 Nm of torque at the wheel. Top speed is 120 km/h (75 mph). The 7.1 kWh battery gives up to 150 km (93 miles) of urban range. You get five riding modes: Eco, Street, Sport, Nitrous and Reverse.

Carbon fibre covers the front fender, side ducts, engine covers, belly pan, wheel arches, rear winglets and brake-cooling ducts. Glossy and matte black aerodynamic parts sit next to these panels. At the front, an illuminated Brabus badge sits beside a custom headlight with vertical daytime running lights. The supermotard-style handlebar carries CNC-machined controls, bar-end mirrors and brake levers.

DAB Motors builds each motorcycle by hand in France. Production is limited to 10 numbered units worldwide. The company treats the motorcycle as a designed object as much as a means of transport, and this edition changes the look of an existing machine through colour and branding while leaving the engineering alone.

The price is $50,000 (about €43,000). DAB Motors sells the motorcycle by allocation, and you reserve a unit through the DAB Motors website. A US-specification version is also planned, adapted to local regulations.
