1. Introduce Yourself to the Casawi Community: What drives you? What's your artistic vision, and what sets you apart from the crowd?

I am a prop designer and maker which is a very unique way to work in scenography field. There are different characteristics I try to achieve when creating. For sure one of them is interactiveness. I like to invite people to play. I try to twist meanings of objects using an unexpected material or unusual position. I’m also interested in foldability, lightness and transportability of installations.

2. City Inspirations: How has your city influenced your artistic path? Share how its streets, culture, and energy have molded your work.

Milano is a city which gives you a lot of possibilities and space for every crazy idea. It changed my direction. I gradually abandoned graphic communication and printing (which I was no longer enjo- ing) to start an adventure with designing and constructing. Milano is an agglomerate of little specific worlds that you can immerge yourself in. For example you can stop by in a hidden plexiglass processing bussiness in which the owners in the meantime make fake human skulls - giving them ancient look using the glue for foam rubber. Or you can discover a ice company that has huge freezers and you can ask them to freeze whatever object you want in a block of ice. This city is full of these very particular suprising realities with everyday lives that inspire me. Many projects start on the street, outside of a party - I’m a passive smoker, I like to keep company to those who need a puff and steal a little private conversation.

3. Creative Process: What fuels your creativity? Whether it's a ritual, a muse, or a moment of clarity, we're keen to learn.

What fuels my creativity is often meeting somebody who has completely different point of view. My friend who is a surgeon gives me this fresh spark, I start to see new connections. He sews human skin, I sew textiles, there is something in between in which there is a world of solutions to discover. Also doing things for the first time makes me think how can I reinvent my usual process. Recently I went to a sailing course on Baltic sea and after I was super excited to use these knowledge about rig- ging and equipment in scenography.

4. City Lifestyle and Art: How the places you lived influenced your career and work?

I grew up in Poznan a beautiful city in Poland. My mother was saying hello to me at 7AM or whatever early hour it was, me in bed, and she was asking me “oh, you are already wasting your time?” I think it shaped me. Time is the supply. I’ve studied in Gdansk where I build important friendships. In Porto, Portugal where I was kind of doing my Erasmus programe I thought it’s good to take life as adventure, not always stick to percise plan and just keep it groovy.

5. Latest or Upcoming Projects: Give us a glimpse into your current endeavors and what lies ahead on your creative journey.

Recently I had to study different kite structures for one collaboration. It was refreshing. Haha, like wind! I was making small prototipes using paper straws with thread in it, a very satisfying method. For the final sculptures I was testing thin aluminum pipes which remain humble and light. So here I have gained new knowledge and I won’t hesitate to use it.
