Japanese retailer URBAN RESEARCH reunites with Salomon for an autumn sneaker project. The release applies a subdued color palette to the long-standing XA PRO 3D GTX trail silhouette. Salomon originally introduced the XA PRO series in 2002 for endurance athletes on technical mountain trails. This updated version shifts the performance model into urban street culture without removing technical features.

A deep brown mesh base layer forms the upper alongside burgundy undertones. Black glossy cages overlay the sidewalls, reinforcing structural integrity and stabilizing your foot on uneven terrain. Cool slate blue and muted grey panels cut across the sides to deliver subtle contrast against dark panels. Synthetic reflective trim runs along the angular cage and heel counter, adding high visibility during low light conditions.

Salomon places bold graphic lettering across the heel, contrasting the dark upper construction. Underneath the mesh surface, an integrated GORE-TEX lining blocks water while releasing internal heat. A signature Quicklace system pulls tight across the padded tongue for rapid adjustment. A heavy rubber toe structure covers the front, protecting your toes against rocks and urban obstacles.

Underneath, the brand's 3D Advanced Chassis sits between the midsole and outsole to manage energy return and torsional stability. The shoe rests on a lugged black Contagrip rubber sole designed for traction across wet surfaces, loose gravel, and city asphalt.
