During Paris Fashion Week, Casawi visited the Carne Bollente SS26 showroom to preview their latest collection, Give Me a Break. The Paris-based label continues its unapologetic sex-positive approach, this time focusing on erotic summer freedom.
Against a backdrop of global instability and uncertainty, Carne Bollente proposes a pause. Creative director and co-founder Agoston Palinko explains the concept: "It's not about escape, but about reclaiming joy, fantasy, and freedom, even when things feel out of control".
The collection navigates sensuality, humor, and provocation through visual storytelling. Cigarette-pack motifs draw from Marlboro imagery, while graphics reference morning intimacy and Parisian eroticism. The narrative shifts toward the classic Eurotrip experience, reimagined through a liberated perspective. The standout piece: a T-shirt declaring "I Had Sex in Italia"—functioning as both tourist souvenir and personal statement.
This season features a collaboration with late Japanese artist Sadao Hasegawa, recognized for his homoerotic artwork. Though known within underground Western queer culture, Hasegawa remains less familiar in Asia. Carne Bollente honors his work through an all-over print sleeveless shirt and a glossy graphic bag, pieces that merge surrealism, queerness, and unfiltered fantasy.
The black smoking denim jeans emerged as a collection highlight for both observers and Agoston himself. Sleek and subversive, they balance the line between eroticism and daily wear.
Key pieces include the "I Had Sex in Italia" tee, the Sadao Hasegawa bag, and Parisian-inspired items that combine sensual narratives with playful defiance.
Give Me a Break advances Carne Bollente's established sex-positive voice, weaving together streetwear, art, and activism into garments designed to challenge conventions and provoke discussion.
The collection addresses those ready to dress for joy, rebellion, and pleasure in 2026. The verdict remains unchanged: sounds gay, we're in.
