SELVA OPENS IN A HISTORIC MASSERIA IN SICILY

A new venue dedicated to underground electronic music opened on August 14 in the countryside outside Ragusa in south east Sicily. The space goes by the name of SELVA, occupying a historic masseria located only a few minutes from the sea at Marina di Ragusa, operating as the first dedicated club in the Iblean territory with a year round music program. The main dancefloor is known as the cavea, functioning as an open air stage set directly into the natural rock and the surrounding Mediterranean scrub, offering an outdoor dancing experience during the summer months. Two additional indoor rooms named the ballatoio and the scuderie exist on the property, carrying the music programming safely through the autumn and winter seasons.

On the exact same grounds you will find Flora Pizza Natura, extending the venue experience far beyond the dancefloor. Flora operates as a multi use space dedicated to food and music, centering around a panoramic terrace overlooking the surrounding natural environment. The pizzeria opens well before the music begins, welcoming guests from sunset onwards to eat, listen to early DJ sets, and gather before the main night program officially starts.

The musical programming covers a wide spectrum of electronic sounds, creating an environment where international headliners meet local collectives and regional showcases. Francesco Maria played back to back with Andrea Saba, and Roi Perez opened the venue properly during the first weekend. Satoshi Tomiie, GNMR playing with Venerus, and Alex Neri playing alongside Francesco Farfa follow across the remainder of the summer, alongside many other Italian acts. On August 22 the venue hosts the official afterparty for the label festival run by Nina Kraviz on the island. Praecox plays live while Skorri opens the decks, closing the night with an extended back to back set featuring Cerrot, Deniro, Franzizca and u.r.trax.

The site features a d&b audiotechnik rig and a full lighting design, built specifically for long nights outdoors. The booking policy leans heavily international while providing regular slots for DJs already working in the region, bringing a rich local scene to the main bill.
