1. Introduce Yourself to the Casawi Community: What drives you? What's your artistic vision, and what sets you apart from the crowd?

I’m LITH, an independent singer, producer and songwriter based in Barcelona, Spain. What drives me and my art is curiosity, experimentation and instinct: mixing sounds, eras and emotions, playing with distortion and pushing sound until it feels just right. I see music as a playground and sound as toys that I can mix, break, bend and reshape.

I aim to create an impact, a weird but satisfying sensation through music and visuals that feel futuristic and new, but also nostalgic and familiar by blending popular references and influences with newer, darker underground elements. My art is about freedom: it’s chaotic, but in a way that makes sense, honest and personal, since everything, from the lyrics to the beats, is self-made.

I like to believe that what sets me apart is that I don’t treat genre, language or format as limits. For me, everything is a tool for creation and innovation.

2. City Inspirations: How has your city influenced your artistic path? Share how its streets, culture, and energy have molded your work.

Barcelona has shaped me a lot as an artist. It’s a city where very different worlds coexist: underground scenes, fashion, club culture, design, the beach, chaos, and calm. That mix of worlds is very much reflected in my music and visuals. The energy of the streets, the nightlife, and the rich culture here push me to experiment and not stay in one lane.

The music scene in Barcelona is very different from that of other cities in Spain. It has a very curated, niche underground scene with strong international influences and a strong desire to innovate. Because it’s a relatively small city, everyone knows everyone, and music really feels like a community. I truly believe Barcelona is a city made by and for creatives and creators.

3. Creative Process: What fuels your creativity? Whether it's a ritual, a muse, or a moment of clarity, we're keen to learn.

My creativity is fueled by curiosity and experimentation. I spend a lot of time in my home- studio, experimenting with random mixes, blending genres, sampling songs, memes, opening ideas without knowing where they’ll end up. I don’t really have a fixed creative process, I usually just flow and create whenever something or someone inspires me. Sometimes it’s a sound, sometimes a memory, sometimes a random sample, and sometimes a person.

When I make music, I might start with a vocal melody, or with drums, or with some synth chords; it really depends on the moment. I try not to overthink things at the beginning and simply let the chaos happen, then shape it later. This way of working applies not only to my music but also to the visuals.

4. City Lifestyle and Art: How the places you lived influenced your career and work?

I’ve always lived in Barcelona, but I’ve experienced very different environments and have been surrounded by nightlife and diverse music scenes for a long time. The night, parties, clubs and high energy are very present in my recent work for example. Being surrounded by creatives who share a similar artistic vision has also deeply shaped both my sound and my approach.

Although Barcelona has a very free-spirited, niche, and innovative music culture, I also spend a lot of time in Madrid, which feels more professional and business-focused. Experiencing both scenes has been enriching for me. Barcelona has given me a more experimental, underground perspective on music, while Madrid has given me a more commercial and professional mindset.

5. Latest or Upcoming Projects: Give us a glimpse into your current endeavors and what lies ahead on your creative journey.

I recently released my first mixtape, named UHN, the first real chapter of LITH. It’s a mixtape that introduces my new identity, sound and aesthetic, and sets the foundation for everything that will come next. It blends hyperpop, trap, pop, electronic music and Brazilian funk influences, with a strong focus on vocal processing, distortion and texture.

Conceptually, UHN is heavily inspired by the late 2000s and early 2010s, but not from a purely nostalgic place. I wanted to revisit that era in a distorted, digital way, using it as raw material to build something new. The iPod, Tumblr, Vine, Instagram, house parties, EDM, trap and the early internet are all part of that universe. A big part of the project comes from sampling: iconic songs and artists such as Imogen Heap and Justin Bieber, and cultural references mostly from that time, revisited with modern production.

There are eight tracks on the mixtape, featuring collaborations with emerging artists lucigarci, xicu, OH!DULCEARi, GOMZ, Alba Arias and Brunuss Rizzo, each bringing a different energy and color to the project, from more nostalgic and melodic tracks to harder, more distorted ones.

A part from this, I’m working on new music that leans even more into hyperpop, rage and EDM influences, and expanding the project into live shows and DJ sets. This is just the beginning of LITH; there’s a lot more coming, both sonically and visually.
